Together We Shine evaluates each client's disabilities and needs, then matches them with a pre-qualified and loving Host Home Family. Our Day Service Programs also provide relief for primary caregivers through engaging activities and social interaction for people with disabilities.  If you have funding from the Division of Services for People with Disabilities (DSPD)you are in the right place.

Together We Shine - Care for People with Disabilities

It is our vision to enrich the lives of people with disabilities in every community along the Wasatch Front.  From Santaquin, Utah at the southern end of Utah Valley, including Spanish Fork up through you live in Provo and Orem, Lehi or Eagle Mountain.  We will help facilitate and ensure quality environments and independent living skills for Adults with ABI and intellectual disabilities in the Salt Lake Valley in Draper, South Jordan, West Valley, and Sandy. Creating activities that make everybody feel included in your community along the East Bench  Mill Creek, Sugar House, and the Avenues, up through Bountiful,  Kaysville, Roy, Clearfield, and Ogden. And every other community in between. Where necessary we want to be convenient to the communities where our clients already work, play and live. Ultimately becoming the place that comes to mind for impeccable service and attention to every detail connected with the placement and care of these individuals, and service for the families who take them in.  Together We Shine thoughtful intends to facilitate relationships that will bless and uplift all involved for life.

Gabe and Heidi Founders of Togther We Shine LLC; Services that match People with Disabilities with Host Homes Families and Caregivers with Respite Care

We are Gabriel and Heidi Bernal.  We have 4 children, including our son Junior who has Down Sydrome, and who we adopted into our family six years ago. We have also been a host home family for adults with special needs for the past 5 years, and have loved it. Over the past five years I (Heidi) have worked with individuals with disabilities on many different occasions, serving the "Special Need Mutual" for five years, working and loving everyone that I was able to work with. Because of  the love Gabe and I have for those with disabilities, we have spent 17 years working with youth that have disabilities that ended up in the foster system

 

Not too long ago we started to look seriously at what options were out there for those that have disabilities when they become adults. There are some good providers out there but we wanted to see something different, something more personal where more time is spent to connect with clients. We wanted to get to know them, to provide better support for them and ultimately provide a better way of living through better host home matching.

 

We intend to stay a small provider to ensure that we are able to get to know each client personally. Doing things with them as often as possible. Our passion is to help clients experience a loving family setting where they can experience self-fulfillment and attainment for their goals

 

Our goal is to help individuals with disabilities get the care and attention they deserve and help host parents by compensating them 60% of the budget, far above what most providers will compensate. If you are looking for care or provide care, we look forward to working with you.
